The organizers of the Fitchburg Chowdahfest are happy to announce that the third annual event will take place on Saturday, December 4, 2010, at the Fitchburg Senior Center. The proceeds will benefit the Friends of Coggshall Park.

As in the past, the event is a competition open to all licensed kitchens in the area. The tasting begins at noon and runs until 2:30 pm with the tally of votes immediately following and the announcement of the winners at approximately 3pm.

In the short time the chowdahfest has been held it has become very popular. It has already outgrown its previous venue in the Senior Center Dining Room and this year will be held in the much larger O’Neil Hall.

The organizers feel that this event is a great compliment to the Fitchburg Art Museum Holly Berry Craft Fair. Craft Fair attendees can either have their lunch at the chowdahfest before or after attending the Art Museum event in addition to participating in other holiday events planned for downtown Fitchburg.

While you are in downtown, be sure to attend both the Holly Berry Craft Fair and the Fitchburg Chowdahfest. Cheer on your favorite restaurant or caterer and vote for your favorite chowder.
